The Bulldogs are considering an injunction preventing Sonny Bill Williams playing any form of football if he walks away from his contract, and could also take action against rugby clubs looking to sign their star. Williams, who last year signed a five-year deal worth $525,000 a season, has said he is not happy at the club and is considering a switch to New Zealand’s All Blacks or French rugby. But Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg expects the second-rower to carry out the rest of his deal. "Sonny Bill's got a contract with us,'' Greenberg told News Limited. "He's one year into a five-year deal and the expectation of the club and its fans is that he'll honour that contract. "The Bulldogs would take a very dim view of anyone who's working out there on inducing a breach of contract. "There are some very significant ramifications of inducing a breach of contract and we would take a very strong stance on anyone looking at that." Williams and his manager are expected to meet with Greenberg and Bulldogs chairman George Peponis this week, when the player’s future should become clearer. "My door has always been open and will continue to be open for both Sonny and his manager to work through any issues he might have,'' Greenberg said.

26/05/2008 11:50:50 PM The dogs should let him walk without a cent, he doesn't want to be there good go!!! Does he think people care that he's upset $500,000 a year isn't enough?? It's greedy players like him that drive the cost of attending games up and in the end the fans are paying more for his greed. It's an insult to fans who by attending affectively pay his wage. Its to late to turn it around Sonny, everyone knows your greed and lack of loyalty to the game that made you a star, walk away now and don't come back! Posted by: Mark Smith, Lakemba, Australia Reply
